چکیده

Aglossia is a rare congenital malformation that often occurs as an isolated disorder or is observed in association with other congenital deformities, particularly limb defects. We present a unique case of a 7-year-old girl with aglossia, hypodactyli, rudimentary ears, retrognathic and V-shaped mandible. Her parental history revealed intrauterine exposure of medicines. The patient had problems in difficulty in eating, speech, taste sensation and hearing. The present case does not fit into Hall's classification of oromandibular limb hypogenesis syndrome (OLHS) which best describes hypoglossia and limb deformities. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to document the rare variant of OLHS which can be included in Hall's classification. How to cite this article: Kalaskar RR, Godhane A, Kalaskar A, Demble S. Craniocervical junction malformation in a child with Oromandibular-limb hypogenesis-Möbius syndrome

We report a male child with Oromandibular-limb hypogenesis (OMLH), the main features being bilateral sixth and seventh nerve palsies, limb anomalies and hypoplasia of the tongue. Additional features were shortness of the neck associated with torticollis. Radiographs of the cervical spine were non-contributory, but 3D computed tomography (CT) scanning of this area identified: a) congenital hypop...

Oromandibular-limb Hypogenesis Syndrome Type II C: A Rare Case

The oromandibular-limb hypogenesis syndrome comprises a group of anomalies which simultaneously affect the mandible, tongue, and maxilla with or without reductive limb anomalies. It is characterized by failure of development of the intraoral region and distal extremities. Multiple and variable deformities of the mandible, maxilla and tongue may occur in combination with a variety of limb defect...

Oromandibular Limb Hypogenesis Syndrome Type IIB: Case Report of Hypoglossia-Hypodactyly

Hypoglossia-hypodactyly is a rare congenital anomaly affecting the tongue and the limbs. Hall in 1971 classified it under a complex group of disorders called oromandibular limb hypogenesis syndromes. It is an extremely rare condition with around 40 cases reported in the world literature. The cause of the syndrome is unknown. Some type of intrauterine trauma is the most widely accepted etiology....

Acromelia‐oligodontia syndrome

This case report describes a patient with ankyloglossia, oligodontia, unilateral hypoplasia of the zygoma and mandible, along with bilateral distal reduction anomalies of his limbs without long bone abnormalities. This may represent a mild variant of oromandibular limb hypogenesis syndrome, expanding the phenotypic spectrum, or a previously unrecognized malformation syndrome.

Hypoglossia Type 1A: report of a case and review of literature with focus on clinical investigations.

Hypoglossia is a rare entity which is reported sporadically. Hypoglossia has often occurred in an association with limb anomalies and, therefore, these cases have been grouped together as hypoglossia-hypodactylia within oromandibular limb hypogenesis syndromes. The literature on this condition is reviewed, and a case of hypoglossia has also been presented. An investigative protocol to aid in th...
